A Vacancy at Derbyshire Community Health Services NHS Foundation Trust.


We are seeking a self-motivated, highly competent Multi Skilled Technician (core trade Mechanical/Plumbing) to be part of the Trust’s high performing and innovative Estate’s Maintenance Team.



You should have a broad knowledge of Water systems in a health care or commercial sector environment and be able to demonstrate competence of carrying out minor work activities normally associated with other trades. A positive 'can do' attitude is imperative.



Estate’s Technicians operate using a paperless system and goodcommunication skills and confidence using electronic tablets for receiving work information and returning data electronically are required. You will be expected to manage your allocated workload on a day to day basis including planning of work, obtaining materials from local merchants and going the extra mile to further enhance service quality.



This position offers an excellent opportunity to have a key role in the delivery of our well respected professional Estate’s maintenance service. Agile working, autonomy, and empowerment to make decisions in your day to day work activity make this an attractive proposition for the successful candidate. Work across multiple building and engineering maintenance disciplines.

Demonstrate competence and skills of associated trades ie building, electrical and plumbing disciplines.

Work as a member of a Multi-disciplinary Team, engage on repair, maintenance and installations to Trust and external customer premises.

Self-manage workload and purchasing of materials to ensure works are completed to the required response times, standard and quality in order to meet the requirements set out in the customer’s individual service level agreements.

Operate home enable working and have delegated responsibility and autonomy in making decisions concerning day to day work.

Deliver a quality professional service to Estates customers, creating a positive impression of Estates service in terms of appearance, attitude and quality of service provided.

Competent in the use of technology (Android tablets/smart phones).

Supervise, train and mentor the Estates apprentices on a one to one basis.

Deliver peer to peer training of your core trade to enable technicians to expand their competence of carrying out work outside their core trade.

Actively participate in a programme of continuous improvement through training and development programmes.

Work in accordance with the Estates ISO 9001:2015 and ISO 14001:2015 Quality Management system.
