£33,364 – £34,064 / £34,871 - £37,332 pro rata
£17.29 - £17.66 / £18.08 - £19.35 per hour
The above amounts include shift allwance and Distant Islands Allowance
St Rognvald’s House is a Care Home supporting Adults with all aspects of care and support located in Kirkwall.
You will be required to carry out tasks and duties delegated by senior staff in an effective and efficient manner ensuring at all times the social and domestic care needs of service users. You will ensure the safety and comfort of service users, attending to all aspects of wellbeing; in keeping with the Health and Social Care Standards. You will observe the principles of confidentiality in all aspects of practice and will be required to have sound knowledge of care planning and risk management.
Previous experience in social care is essential.
For appointment to Grade E:
You should hold an SVQ2 or equivalent level qualification in Social Care AND achieve an SVQ3 in Social Care or another relevant qualification to enable registration with the SSSC as a Practitioner in a Care Home Service for Adults within 5 years of appointment.
For appointment or progression to Grade F:
You should hold an SVQ3 in Social Care or other relevant qualification to enable registration with the SSSC as a Practitioner in a Care Home Service for Adults.
You are required to register with the SSSC within 3 months of appointment.
You should be able to travel efficiently and effectively between work locations within Orkney to meet the operational requirements of the Service.
This post is subject to Protecting Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Scheme in respect of regulated work with adults.
