Responsible for the complex detailed design of the technical integration architecture for interfaces across the Trust and the NWL APCResponsible for reviewing and quality assuring the interface design, development, documentation and test plans ensuring that appropriate options have been explored and selected and adhere to the Trust standards.Presenting technical integration solutions to the senior management teamPresenting technical integration and development solutions to the integration teams within the Trust and the NWL APC and providing expert leadership in developing the solutionsMust work independently and balance workloads according to the priorities set by the Trust managing exceptions and slippage and initiating escalations where appropriate.Responsible for the analyses of highly complex facts and options including financial and technical data, that require interpretation and comparison e.g. time to implementation, cost of delivery compared to development quality and risk. Leading subsequent senior technical review meetings to consider the analysis and determine the development and implementation implications.Liaise with clinicians and external organisations, enabling them to understand / specify requirements.Take part in difficult and sensitive commercial supplier negotiations over technical issues and expresses the Trusts position clearly and professionally.Contribute to the identification of new and emerging technologies for processing and managing information, evaluating their relevance and potential benefits to the Trust and the NWL APC.Must work under limited or no direct supervision and act autonomously in the end-to-end delivery of a portfolio of Digital initiatives in line with the Trusts Digital Strategy.Act as the final arbiter of interface architecture within the integration team, seeking guidance from the peers and senior management team where appropriate.Ensure interface architecture adheres to the security and information governance standards and requirements, as defined by Trust policies.Act as escalation point with regard to the interface development undertaken to ensure it is delivered to specification and is of the highest quality.Will support the Integration Manager in the development of Integration related business cases, providing high level technical input and specifications. Determine the estimated costs of resources and monitor resource expenditure and costs against estimates throughout the lifecycle of any development.Provide and communicate to the senior management team in-depth specialist knowledge and expertise on a variety of technical aspects of system integration and interface development in determining the best digital solutions and long-term integration architecture.Assess and communicate the impacts, risks, costs, benefits and opportunities of IT solutions and integration architectures. The post-holder must be able to understand the bigger picture and assess smaller technical components as coherent parts of the whole enterpriseThe post-holder will make recommendations about ICT projects / initiatives and their impact across the Trust. The post-holder will therefore need to be able to make sound technical recommendations based on clear analysis.Explore alternative approaches, preparing documents and explaining solutions / architectures and other technical proposals to stakeholders, non-technical staff and developersAlign solutions and integration with business processes, IT and business strategy and, where required/appropriate, with National and Regional strategies. Develop or assist in the development of electronic business communication specifications.Take long-term responsibility for the organisations IT integration architectureBe responsible for the provision of regular and ad hoc reports as required by the service.Support the quality assurance demands of the Trust and ensure that a culture of quality and best practice is encouraged and maintainedAct as escalation point with regard to the interface architecture to ensure interfaces are delivered to specification and are of the highest quality.Responsibility to support existing interface architecture ensuring that each interface remains fit for purpose.Occasionally required to work flexibly to meet the demands of the service, e.g. to participate in system deployment in the evenings or at weekends. However, these will be the exception rather than the norm.The post holder will be expected to travel between Trust and NWL sites as required by the role.Provide cover for colleagues as appropriate.Undertake any other duties requested as appropriate to the banding.
