Job Description: 



Futuristic is seeking a highly skilled Data Architect to lead the design and development of modern, scalable, and cloud-native data platforms. In this role, you will work closely with technical architects, business stakeholders, and engineering teams to deliver end-to-end data solutions across AWS, Google Cloud Platform (GCP), and Microsoft Azure. You will play a key role in shaping the future of data architecture for high-profile clients across both public and private sectors, driving innovation, regulatory compliance, and strategic digital transformation.

Job Role and Responsibilities:

Design and implement enterprise data architectures for Trade, Sales Operations, and Finance use cases.

Deliver modern Big Data solutions aligned with business and regulatory requirements.

Define target state architectures enabling complex systems integration and analytics.

Develop conceptual, logical, and physical data models.

Lead and support Agile consulting projects focused on data architecture.

Provide best-practice guidance for data management and architecture across Financial Services clients.

Build reusable data services and capabilities supporting modern data journeys to the cloud.

Define and maintain end-to-end data flow diagrams, ERDs, and architectural blueprints.

Architect secure, scalable data platforms on AWS (S3, Glue, Redshift, Lambda, RDS) and Azure (Data Factory, Databricks, Synapse).

Translate business needs into high-level data designs and architecture specifications.

Ensure compliance with UK government standards for data security, interoperability, and performance.

Mentor data engineers, analysts, and development teams on data architecture best practices.

Participate in architecture reviews and contribute to governance processes.



Required Skills and Experience:



Minimum 10+ years of experience as a Data Engineer or Architect (Mandatory).

Proven experience in building enterprise data platforms and Big Data solutions.

Expertise in Lakehouse Architecture, Data Governance, and Data Modelling.

Deep understanding of data integration, quality, and governance principles.

Hands-on experience with Azure technologies: Data Factory, Databricks, Unity Catalog, Synapse, Power BI, Cosmos DB, SQL Server.

Proficiency in AWS data services: S3, Redshift, Glue, Lambda, RDS.

Strong Python, PySpark, and SQL scripting skills.

Experience with microservices and event-driven architectures in cloud environments.

Ability to align data strategy across business units and programmes.

Certified in AWS, Azure, or GCP Cloud Architecture/Data Engineering (Desirable).

Familiar with data modeling tools (Lucidchart, ER/Studio, Draw.io) and standards.

Strong understanding of:

Data lake design

Metadata management & data cataloging

Data privacy and security in cloud ecosystems

Cloud networking, cost management, and operations

Cloud migration and storage patterns across AWS, GCP, and Azure

Interest or experience in Graph computing and semantic data modeling is a plus.

Knowledge of UK data privacy and compliance standards.

Qualifications & Certifications:



Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related discipline.

AWS Certified Data Analytics – Specialty or Solutions Architect – Associate (Desirable).

Azure or GCP cloud certifications are also valued.
