We’re currently looking for Fine Ingredients Operative to join the Romix team, where we have vacancies on our Midday shift 06.00am to 14.00pm shift.
Functional Title: Fine Ingredients Operative
Location: Leigh
Salary: £12.10 for training period increasing to £12.76ph when fully trained
Working Hours: your initial training will be for 4-6 weeks on the 06.00am to 14.00pm shift, on completion of training you will move to the 10.00am to 18.00pm shift.
Summary Statement
Weigh out ingredients from 0.05g to 24kg, prepare kits to the required quality and legal standard using batch cards, operating and quality procedures. Document information as required by QC procedures. Clean equipment to ensure no product cross contamination. Ensure 100% attainment to production plan, the role is quite physical and requires some heavy lifting. Accuracy is key to this role.
Key Duties:
Weighing out Fine Ingredients
Weighing out of all fine ingredients into bags in preparation for the mixing room.
Completion of batch cards
Ensure all correct batch information is input on to the batch cards against correct products.
Product Quality
Ensure product is positively released by the QC Department before supplying product to the packing lines.
Cleaning
Ensure equipment is cleaned as required using cleaning procedures. Ensure cleaning is recorded using relevant documentation.
Hygiene and Housekeeping
Maintain the process areas to a high level of good housekeeping and hygiene. To report any pest control issues to the Technical Department.
Health & Safety
To satisfy the legal requirements by being responsible for your own and your colleagues’ Health and Safety.
Training
Full training will be provided. Previous food production experience/ food hygiene certificate would be desirable but not essential.
Knowledge, Skills and abilities:
Knowledge of the food safety.
Ability to work on own initiative.
Numerate.
Literate.
Effective communication skills.
To be successful in this role you’ll have an excellent eye for detail, strong communication skills. The Ability to work on own initiative, a strong work ethic and a pro-active approach to everything you do. Previous experience within the food industry is not essential, we’re interested in hearing about the transferable skills you have, particularly if you have previous experience of working with machinery or within a factory environment.
