An exciting opportunity exists to appoint a Junior Clinical Fellow in HPB Surgery to the HPB and Liver Transplant service.

The post will be fully integrated into the elective and emergency workload of the department, covering the major speciality of HPB surgery, Sarcoma surgery as well as general surgery.

The successful applicants will join a team of existing clinical fellows to cover the workload for the consultants including general surgery and a tertiary HPB service. In addition all post-holders will be expected to participate on a 1 in 6 rota for daytime cover for HPB patients, including weekends.

This post is not recognised by the Deanery for training. Education and clinical supervision is available for all post holders to facilitate appraisal and revalidation. Support will be offered for candidates using this post as a bridge to Core Surgery or Higher Specialist Training.

Successful candidates will be supported to gain in-house accreditation in basic and intermediate laparoscopic skills both in simulated and clinical scenarios. A full educational programme is available and opportunities may be available for some of the post-holders to join the active postgraduate research programme within the department including, where appropriate, registration for a higher degree.

All candidates must be registered with the General Medical Council.

Start date can be negotiable for the successful applicant(s) and further start dates may be available later in the year.
