JOB DESCRIPTION – IT CONSULTANT
Job Overview:
The role of IT Consultant is to work in partnership with clients and their key stakeholders to advise them how to use IT Systems and Applications in order to mee their business objectives or overcome the business challenges and define the scope of the projects, plan time scales and required resources. The successful applicant will be employed as an IT Consultant specialising in, understanding the client requirements, facilitate a scoping study for a bespoke digital care management system, providing technical expertise to optimise digital systems and processes in the business and design and implement innovative IT solutions. and testing and validating and providing training and post implementation support to staff members group.
Key Responsibilities:
Digital Strategy Development:
Collaborate with Senior Management and Home Managers to develop and implement a comprehensive digital strategy aligned with the organisation’s objectives and regulatory requirements.
Identify opportunities to leverage technology to improve resident care, enhance operational efficiency and drive business growth.
System Design and Integration:
Design, customise, and integrate healthcare applications, electronic health records (HER) systems, and other IT solutions to meet the specific needs of residential care homes.
Ensure seamless integration and interoperability of systems to streamline workflow and enhance data accessibility.
Regulatory Compliance:
Stay up-to-date with relevant regulations and standards governing IT systems in the healthcare industry, including GDPR and HIPAA.
Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and data security best practices in the design and implementation of IT solutions.
Staff Training and Support:
Develop and deliver training programs to educate staff on the use of IT systems and application, including EHR systems, staff scheduling software, Training and Development Portal, use of organisation’s web resources and communication tools.
Provide ongoing support and troubleshooting assistance to staff members to ensure efficient and effective use of IT resources.
Project Management:
Lead IT projects from inception to completion, including project planning, resource allocation, and risk management.
Monitor project progress and performance, ensuring that projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards.
Integration of all software applications and tools used within the organisation.
Skills and Experience:
• Bachelor’s degree in information technology or a related field of Study or Engineering.
• Proven experience in IT consulting or project management, preferably in the Education/Healthcare sector in the UK.
• Strong technical skills, including knowledge of healthcare applications, database management, and IT infrastructure.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate technical concerns to non-technical stakeholders. Interact and work with management, staff, service users, families and external stakeholders.
• Strong problem solving and analytical abilities, with a keen attention to detail.
• Experience with project management methodologies and software quality assurance to ensure the project development and integration is to the desired standards.
