Join our team as an Apprentice Workshop Technician and
kickstart your career in the automotive industry. You’ll work alongside experienced
technicians, learning essential skills in vehicle diagnostics, servicing, and
repairs in a hands-on, supportive environment.
Ultimately
leading to the ability to undertake:

Maintenance
• Service
• Repair
activities on vehicles to the highest standards once fully qualified
Role and Responsibilities
Carry
out routine vehicle service and maintenance, inspecting components for
wear and tear and documenting all findings. You will also test potentially
faulty parts, diagnosing any issues and resolving faults.
Supporting
the internal departments in the preparation and maintenance of new cars,
used cars or loan vehicles.
Manufacturer
led training to gain motor vehicle qualifications and working closely with
other members of the workshop team to constantly learn and share
knowledge.

successful candidate will be an organised and motivated individual who has
the desire and attitude to succeed.
You
may have no previous experience but is keen to begin a career within the
motor industry, or you may be enrolled in the early stages of a vehicle
maintenance and repair course at collage already but is looking to pursue a career that
will provide you with the relevant training during your employment through
an apprenticeship.
Training
STANDARD & LEVEL
The successful candidate will work towards completing the Level 3 Motor Vehicle Service & Maintenance Technician - Light Vehicle Standard from the Institute for Apprenticeships & Technical Education. Delivered by Blackpool and The Fylde College offering expert tuition and exceptional facilities.

Your B&FC apprenticeship is made up of several different elements and each one reflects your individual abilities and career goals. Our expert tutors and assessors have relevant industry experience and will support you to achieve all your goals.
Off-the-job training
Developing your skills at work is called on-the-job training, 20% of your apprenticeship (equal to one full day a week) will be ‘off-the-job’. This might include attending College, tackling projects, online learning, coaching, shadowing, or training for your job.
Stacks of support
Assessment mostly takes place in the workplace. When you start, you will be allocated a skills coach, who will visit you at least once a month to guide and support you and help you to plan for your future. We will also provide you with specialist support for your English and maths and for any additional needs that you make us aware of.
Qualifications required
Level 3 a minimum of English and maths grades A*- C (9-4) (or equivalent) are
desirable OR willingness to complete Functional Skills Level 2 are a requirement
to have or to achieve before EPA Gateway.
