Overall Purpose of Post
To carry out Parking Enforcement in an efficient and courteous manner.
Within this role you will be patrolling public streets and car parks, advising the public of where they can park safely and securely, issuing tickets to incorrectly parked vehicles, reporting suspected abandoned vehicles, and dealing with enquiries from the members of the public.
Core Duties and Responsibilities
- To liaise with members of the public and give advice on parking issues and enforcement procedures in a courteous manner, ensuring that our customer care policy is adhered to at all times.
- To enforce TMA 2004 legislation and the Council's policies in respect of parking controls by issuing of Penalty Charge Notices to vehicles in contravention of the regulations.
- To use and be responsible for the care and general maintenance of any company equipment allocated in order for daily tasks to be carried out.
- To report all occurrences of equipment breakdown and irregularities within the enforcement areas.
- To undertake the duties of the post in accordance with the Quality Assurance systems and procedures within the service.
- To deliver all contractual requirements to the satisfaction of NSL and the Client
- To act as relief and cover for other enforcement staff during periods of absence
- To perform first line maintenance of pay and display machines

- Full clean driving licence is preferable
Knowledge and Skills: Essential
- Ability to operate a handheld computer terminal
- Ability to communicate with customers, often in difficult and demanding circumstances
- Ability to write simple reports and complete pocketbook notes

Data Protection and Information Security
- To ensure that you and your team members adhere to the requirements of the Data Protection Act in respect of confidentiality, security and disclosure of personal data.
- To ensure that you and your team members comply with Marston Information Security Management (ISMS) policies and procedures.
- To uphold Group Information Security Management (ISMS) policies and report any suspected incidents or any observed weaknesses with the companies Information Security Management System to your Line Manager or the Information Security Manager immediately.
- To ensure that you and your team members understand your/their responsibilities to reduce the risk of theft, fraud or misuse of facilities.
- To ensure that you and your team members are aware of information security threats, your/their responsibilities and are equipped to support ISMS in the course of their normal work to reduce the risk of human error.
- To be responsible for evaluating and reviewing the work carried out in your areas of responsibility including all related security responsibilities.
