Summary

About us
Whitmore High School is an 11-18 Comprehensive School, which opened in September 2018. The school serves the western side of Barry and has strong support from the local community and parents. The school recently moved into a £35m building on a large, pleasant site with good access by road or rail, which is within easy reach of the M4, Cardiff, Newport, and Bridgend. The school is popular in the local community; pupil numbers are very strong with a large waiting list in Year 7. A recent Estyn visit, March 2022, recognised the high-quality teaching and learning of the school as a “notable feature” where “as a result of outstanding provision within the majority of subjects, many pupils make rapid and secure progress”. Should you feel you could further contribute to this continually developing school, then please read the attached brochure and further information.
