Team Leader

Our Care at Home services are development based and provide enhanced provision to support adults with varying needs including those with physical disabilities, learning disabilities, older adults, and adults at risk, within their own home to live as independently as they can, with a responsive service adapting to their care needs in line with care and support plans.
Hanover currently have three Housing with Care services in the Scottish Borders with developments in Galashiels, Jedburgh and Innerleithen, and we are now recruiting a full time Team Leader. In this role, you shall provide efficient and effective support to your manager, supporting them to ensure the smooth running of a care at home service and housing service, this will include managing care packages and landlord responsibilities.
You will contribute to supporting, developing, and supervising a care team whilst ensuring that efficient records are maintained. As a Team Leader you will plan and implement a robust rota system, ensuring that the service is sufficiently covered, and that medication is handled in accordance with standard operating procedure. Customer reviews will be well-organised and take place in line with regulatory standards with the full input of relevant professionals and family members. Together with other managerial responsibilities you will be fostering an environment based on respect and confidentiality where customers' independence and choice are promoted.

About You
- To join us, you need to have a genuine passion for helping people.
- Ideally, possess demonstrable experience within a care setting.
- Demonstrate commitment and ability to undertake care practice in accordance with Scottish Social Service Council (SSSC) Codes of Practice, The Health and Social Care Standards, Scottish Commission for the Regulation of Care and Hanover policies and procedures.
- Ability to relate empathetically to people and recognise their right to choice and independence.
- Able to use Microsoft or equivalent applications competently.
- Ideally, hold an SVQ 3 or above and be willing to work towards an SVQ 3 and PDA in supervision.
- Due to the nature of the role a valid UK driving licence and access to a car is required, as there will be times where you will be expected to travel between developments in order to meet the needs of the service.

Main Responsibilities
This Permanent Team Leader Role - based in either Galashiels or Jedburgh, Scottish Borders, involves working flexibly and to cover shifts when required. You will be working as part of a team to ensure that services are delivered flexibly, innovatively and in a dignified, safe, and stimulating way. Promoting independence and encouraging customers to exercise choice.
