We are Capita, a leading provider of building control services in the UK. We have been delivering high-quality and innovative solutions for over 20 years, helping our clients to comply with building regulations and standards. We have a diverse portfolio of services, including Fire Safety, Structural Engineering, and Energy Services, that complement our core building control functions. We also have a strong presence in the sports and leisure sector, where we provide safety at sports grounds services. We are looking for talented and motivated building control inspectors to join our team and help us shape the future of building control. You will be responsible for delivering all aspects of building control functions, such as pre-application meetings, plan checking, site inspections, and certification. You will also be involved in upselling our specialist services and liaising with other partner agencies and authorities. You will be working on some of the most exciting and challenging projects in the country, ranging from residential extensions to large-scale developments.

To succeed in this role, you will need to have:

• knowledge of current building control legislation, associated guidance and issues relevant to the post and be a practical problem solver
• ability to administer all forms and levels of building regulation applications
• knowledge and understanding of operating building control software systems
• ability to undertake all duties in accordance with the building control quality management system and building control performance standards policy adopted
• good IT skills, including Microsoft Office

You will also need to be aware of the new Building Safety Regime that will come into force in April 2024, which will require all building control professionals to be certified by the Building Safety Regulator (BSR). We will support you to achieve this certification and provide you with training and development opportunities.

As a Capita employee, you will enjoy a range of benefits, such as flexible working options, pension scheme, life assurance, health insurance, and more. You will also be part of a supportive and collaborative culture that values diversity and inclusion. You will have the chance to grow your career with us and make an impact on the communities we serve.

If you are ready to take on this exciting challenge, apply now and join us as a building control inspector!
