Coastal Partners, Public Service Plaza, Havant
This is an exciting opportunity to become a key member of a rapidly growing Geomatics Service on the south coast of England. If
you’re looking to get hands on with the latest 3D Data Capture technology, along with vast opportunities to develop your technical
abilities in the role of Engineering Surveyor, then this opportunity may be for you.
Coastal Partners provides a Coastal Risk Management Service to Havant Borough Council, Portsmouth City Council, Chichester
District Council, Gosport Borough Council and Fareham Borough Council that reduces the risks to people, the developed and natural
environment from flooding and coastal erosion. This area includes three major harbours of significant environmental importance
across 246km of coastline.
Sat within the Site Services Team, our Geomatics Service provides a professional Geospatial Mapping and Site Engineering service
to both Coastal Partners and other public sector and partner organisations across Southern England. Utilising the latest
technology in the industry, we’re able to provide a 3D Data Capture service through use of the latest UAV’s and laser scanners, as
well as delivery of topographic, coastal, highway and infrastructure surveys through use of our total stations and GNSS.
With our continued growth in people and technology, as well as substantial forward pipeline of project work, Geomatics Services
are looking for an Engineering Surveyor to join team. You will be an experienced surveyor, technically competent and capable of
producing topographic surveys to the highest standards. You will be able to process and manage complex survey datasets without
supervision and perform appropriate quality checks to meet agreed specifications. You will be comfortable with undertaking works
on site across our region and occasionally further afield, working individually and as a team to produce high level deliverables
for our clients.
You will have the competence to enable continued growth of the Geomatics Services brand as a fee earning professional service to
clients and partners to a high standard. You will be expected to assist the Senior Surveyor in overall works package management,
(time, cost and program) and engage with clients to support the development and implementation of their projects via appropriate
survey services.
We have a long-term agreement with the Southeast Strategic Regional Coastal Monitoring Programme (via an SLA) to regularly survey
the coastline from Hayling Island to the River Hamble, including post storm and sea defence asset inspections. You will form part
of the Geomatics Services staffing resource for this work and be expected to undertake coastal topographic surveys when required.
This is a career graded post and suitable applicants will require a minimum qualification of an HNC in Civil Engineering or
Construction in the Built Environment (or related discipline) and relevant experience in a similar role.
You will be enthusiastic, enjoy working outdoors, be environmentally aware and have confidence in your ability to find solutions
to problems. Experience of GPR, BIM, a CAA approved RPAS/UAV qualification, USV, 3D modelling, point-cloud data collection and
processing would be an advantage.
We apply a suite of applications to generate high quality and dependable outputs to meet our client needs. You will need
extensive experience in the use of Autodesk products such as AutoCAD and Civil3D, specialised survey processing and photogrammetry
platforms such as LSS, Trimble Business Centre, Faro Scene and Pix4D or equivalent. Experience of using GIS software such as ESRI
ArcGIS/ArcPRO would also be an advantage.
