Position Overview: We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Semi Senior Accountant to join our dynamic finance team. The ideal candidate will possess advanced knowledge of VAT, final accounts, and trial balance finalisation. This role requires proficiency in bookkeeping from bank statements and a working knowledge of CCH software. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing draft accounts for partner review, including comprehensive notes and queries.

Key Responsibilities:

VAT Management:
Prepare and submit VAT returns accurately and on time.
Ensure compliance with VAT regulations and identify any discrepancies.
Provide advice on VAT-related matters to clients and internal teams.
Final Accounts Preparation:
Compile and finalise financial statements, including profit and loss accounts, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.
Ensure all financial statements comply with relevant accounting standards and regulations.
Assist in the preparation of year-end accounts and liaise with auditors as required.
Trial Balance Finalisation:
Review and finalise trial balances, ensuring all entries are accurate and complete.
Identify and resolve any discrepancies or issues in the trial balance.
Prepare supporting schedules and documentation for the trial balance.
Bookkeeping:
Maintain accurate and up-to-date bookkeeping records from bank statements.
Reconcile bank statements and ensure all transactions are recorded correctly.
Assist in the preparation of monthly management accounts.
CCH Software Utilisation:
Use CCH software for accounting and tax purposes.
Maintain accurate records and ensure data integrity within the CCH system.
Provide training and support to junior staff on CCH software usage.
Draft Accounts Preparation:
Prepare draft accounts for partner review, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
Include detailed notes and queries for partner consideration.
Collaborate with partners to address any issues or concerns in the draft accounts.
Qualifications and Skills:

A degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
Professional accounting qualification (e.g., ACCA, ACA) or working towards one.
Advanced knowledge of VAT regulations and accounting standards.
Proficiency in bookkeeping and financial statement preparation.
Experience with CCH software is essential.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
