We have an exciting opportunity to join our Health and Fitness team as a Health and Fitness Centre Assistant. In this role, you will play a crucial part in enhancing the overall health and wellbeing of our colleagues within the business.
At Home Bargains we recognise the importance of physical health and its impact on overall happiness and wellbeing. Our Health and Fitness team is dedicated to assisting with training programmes, facilitating studio classes, and providing support as needed.
Our purpose-built, state-of-the-art fitness centre which is equipped with Technogym equipment, two indoor tennis courts, saunas, steam rooms, and a large dance studio.
Package- £12.61 per hour
- Based at our onsite Staff Health and Fitness Centre at our Liverpool Head Office.
- 20 hours per week
- Shifts will vary between 06:00 - 22:00, working any 5 out of 7 days of the week including weekends
- 28 days paid holiday per annum, rising to 33 days upon 5 years’ service (inclusive of bank holidays)

- Support member engagement and foster a positive and welcoming atmosphere within the fitness centre.
- Assist members with facility usage and provide guidance on navigating equipment.
- Collaborate with the gym team to deliver and promote fitness classes or events, ensuring a seamless experience for members.
- Offer friendly, professional, and informative responses to member queries.
- Maintain high standards in health and safety, housekeeping, security, and general facility use.
- Manage an accurate registration and booking system for smooth client interactions.
- Ensure the care and maintenance of equipment and facilities by adhering to compliance checks.
- Respond promptly and professionally to calls, emails, and face-to-face queries.
- Gym Instructor NVQ Level 2 or equivalent.
- Knowledge of health, safety, and security practices.
- Exceptional customer service skills.
- Experience working in a gym environment.
- Experience in a customer-facing role.
- Knowledge of the leisure industry.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
Desirable Criteria:
- Personal Trainer Level 3.
- Experience in teaching fitness classes.
- First aid experience.
