Crynodeb

A vacancy has arisen for a Clinical Aide on Wards 17&19 Medical Day Case Unit (MDCU) at the Leicester General Hospital.

The successful candidate would work alongside nursing and administration colleagues to ensure an efficient and comfortable experience for patients attending the unit. Training will be provided, including cannulation and phlebotomy and the successful candidate will need to demonstrate an ability to manage their own caseload under supervision of a qualified nurse. This will include some administration and organisation of appointments to ensure that patients are treated in a timely manner.

The post is varied and requires a confident individual with the ability to communicate on all levels. It requires use of initiative in a creative manner to ensure swift and efficient treatment of all referred to the unit.

Minimum requirements are a good general education, previous care experience would be an advantage. Specific skills are not required as training will be given, though knowledge of HISS and clinic management is desirable. Essential skills include the ability to communicate with all people and work closely with other members of our small team.

Provide clinical and non clinical support to the Multi Professional team under the direction of an appropriate Registered Health Care Professional.

Deliver direct and indirect care as delegated under the direction and supervision of an appropriate Registered Health Care Professional.

Support the delivery of effective healthcare to patients/ service users by undertaking duties as identified by the Multi Professional Team.

Undertake specified and unsupervised aspects of care and therapeutic intervention as delegated by the Registered Health Care Professional within an agreed protocol, sphere of responsibility and after completing appropriate competency based training agreed by the Trust.

Our new strategy, developed with the support and feedback of colleagues, patients, and partners, is our compass for the next seven years (2023-2030).

We have four primary goals:
• high-quality care for all,
• being a great place to work,
• partnerships for impact, and
• research and education excellence

And we will embed health equality in all we do - taking active steps to reduce the avoidable differences in healthcare that some people face, working in partnership with communities.

Our strategy is underpinned by new values and we will work to ensure they are an everyday reality for all:
• we are compassionate,
• we are proud,
• we are inclusive, and
• we are one team

This is an exciting moment as we look to the future with clarity on what we already do well and where we need to focus our energies to make an even bigger difference for the people we serve.
