The Digital Project Manager will be responsible for delivering an agreed portfolio of projects/programmes that provide strategic or operational value through the application of technology aligned to the Trust Strategy.

Projects will cover clinical and business systems, technical,
transformational/business change, application software or a combination of all elements.

The role will need to work closely with all other parts of the Digital Directorate as well as the Trust’s managed service provider (Atos) and other key suppliers to ensure the successful and seamless implementation of digital projects. Of particular importance will be the need to work collaboratively with Trust operational and clinical colleagues, project sponsors, stakeholders, technology providers and all other personnel who have a role to play in delivery of the agreed business outcomes and benefits.

Above all, the successful post holder must demonstrate the highest levels of customer service at all times with clear focus on delivery.

- Responsibility for the management and delivery a portfolio of projects or programmes in the Digital workspace throughout the project lifecycle ensuring delivery against stated outcomes.

- Work with business colleagues to ensure all activity is delivered as an integrated piece of change covering people, process, data and technology supporting the business case.

- Lead the co-ordination across all other parts of IMT in successfully delivering new projects/programmes and digital initiatives for the Trust.

- Lead in the development of improved IMT project management disciplines through working with third party providers and key stakeholders.

- Actively adhere to the project delivery framework covering lifecycle management, documentation, prioritisation, governance etc. that can flex appropriate to the degree of business change.

- Build effective relationships with key suppliers establishing confidence and respect in often contentious pressurised situations.

- Actively manage the relevant IMT capital budget associated with the assigned projects/programmes with a focus on control and maximising value for money

The partnership between Barnet, Enfield and Haringey Mental Health NHS Trust (BEH) and Camden and Islington NHS Foundation Trust (C&I) is going from strength to strength since it was originally established in 2021 forming the North London Mental Health Partnership.

In order to meet the needs of the new Partnership services you may be required from time to time to work at different locations to your normal place of work. This may mean that you are required to work at any location that fall under Barnet, Enfield and Harringay Trust and Camden and Islington Trust. The Trust reserves the right to require staff to work at such other places or locations as it considers reasonable and necessary on a temporary or permanent basis.

Communication
- Articulate and present business cases in a manner that senior business decision makers
understand the rationale for investment along with the planned benefits and outcomes
- Build relationships throughout the Trust in order to maintain a conscious awareness of
perceived digital delivery capability
- Meet regularly with key project sponsors and stakeholders to ensure that the project needs
and expectations are understood and being met. Put in place appropriate governance
structures to ensure alignment and engagement of all impacted organisational areas
- Develop relationships with stakeholders that allow appropriate challenge and support to
ensure scope is appropriately controlled and that Digital and business colleagues fulfil their
respective roles
- Communicate complex technical issues, with potential significant financial, timeframe or
viability risks, to non-technical staff at all levels in a manner that enables understanding and
consensus
- Through the delivery of projects / programmes build productive relationships with 3rd party
providers with a focus on delivery, quality and value for money. Work in close co-operation
with the procurement and finance teams
- Ability to make decisions on complex issues using their expert knowledge
- Lead the co-ordination across the service delivery, technical services and information
management functions of IMT, in supporting the delivery of each project
- Overall apply political sensitivity, organisational skills and governance processes to ensure
project/programme success

Patient/Customer Care (if applicable) (both direct and indirect)
- Very minimal contact with patients during site visits.
People (HR) Management
- Lead by example by demonstrating appropriate management conduct and professional
behavior at all times.
- Set the highest standards of customer service and develop a team that displays such
standards at all times.
- Manage project team as and when necessary.

Information Management
• Participate as a key member of the IMT Change Advisory Board in the event of proposed
changes.
- Support in driving compliance regarding the accuracy of recording changes to software,
software licenses and hardware across the technologies so that configuration management
records can be maintained.
- Provide regular advice and guidance to the Deputy CIO and Chief Information and
Performance Officer (executive) in all matters relating to projects.
- Maintain the risk register for all risks arising as part of a project which impacts information
governance.
Policy Development
- Responsible for the policy changes as part of a new project delivery, by feeding directly into
relevant policy amendments to reflect the changes introduced by new systems, solutions and
standards
- Achieve agreed objectives and is given freedom to do this in own way of working, develop
broad professional and organization policies without reference to manager
- Keep abreast of up and coming technology standards and compliance regulations and assess
impact on the Trust’s operations and as a result advice any relevant policy changes
- Adhere to all Trust financial policies including the proper creation and approval of relevant
supplier purchase orders and invoices

Service Development
- Assume the lead role in designated digital projects/programmes in directly delivering the
stated benefits against the parameters of time, quality, scope and costs. Where appropriate,
support or challenge sponsor/stakeholder colleagues in relation to scope versus anticipated
benefits
- Undertake detailed planning, as appropriate, covering all the phases of the project lifecycle
from analysis to post live support. Maintain control of agreed project resources and costs
- Produce and maintain accurate project plans, ensuring key milestones, dependencies and
critical path are identified
- Ensure appropriate project governance is in place for the duration of the project, and ensure
risks, issues, assumptions and dependencies are known and understood by the project board
and other leaders and stakeholders.
- Produce audits/surveys related to the project
- Produce regular highlight, exception and progress reports as required.
- Co-ordinate appropriate training on new functionality to enable users to realise benefits at the
earliest opportunity and minimise disruption
- Work in unison with colleagues on all wider project related activity that involves new systems,
solutions and upgrades
- Provide significant contribution to the design of business continuity policies and procedures
as part of new projects
- Work in close collaboration with the Deputy CIO, Head of Non Clinical Risk and other
colleagues in ensuring robust plans exist as part of disaster recovery and continuity planning
- Manage any assigned IT capital project/programme budgets, up to £1m in value and maintain
an accurate and transparent financial record and forecast. Ensure all project related
personnel remain vigilant of the financial implications in relation to delays and scope creep
versus benefits
- Provide transparency at all times to project boards, including sponsors and stakeholders, of
the overall status of projects with particular focus on risks and issues and mitigating actions
Resource Management
- Contribute to the on-going improvement of the Digital Project Delivery Framework for the
deployment of digital technologies. As a consequence, improve the prioritisation, project
resource allocation, delivery and subsequent benefits realisation of project activity.
- Comply with the agreed prioritization process that delivers greatest value against available
resources.
- Ensure all suppliers providing project resources adopt a continuous improvement mantra in
delivery of digital services. Maintain the customer at the centre of any activity.
Systems and Equipment
- Demonstrable competence in using Windows based software such as MS Office365 including
Teams.
- Demonstrable experience in using project management methodologies such as Agile, Prince2
and tools such as MS Project.
Effort, Mental and Environment
- Requires concentration frequently when working on project related activities such as business
cases, project planning, financial reports, which will have an effect on the overall delivery of
the project
- Repetitive tasks to be carried out frequently such as coordination efforts with users who are
remote and on-site
- Time driven projects will require constant management of project related activities, 3rd party
engagements and negotiations, direct interaction with users with technology related issues
and escalations
