One of the largest analytical communities in Government the AC is an exciting and dynamic place to work and contribute to the evidence and analysis that underpins government policy.
You will be part of a team of 13 librarians performing roles that range from managing web and digital media to the more traditional management of books and periodicals to achieve three breakthrough objectives:
- Research Excellence: Building our research offering
- Library without Walls: Identical user experience for those who visit the library or access content virtually
- Knowledge Management: Developing a world-class evidence base for the AC to support better and faster decision making, problem solving and innovation
You will oversee KM with responsibility for line managing one person and effecting change across the AC with support from an established network of knowledge champions and senior sponsors.
A typical day may involve collaborating with DWP digital to plan implementation of tools or leading workshops with senior stakeholders to plan strategic outcomes in line with our goal of delivering KM tools that underpin development of world class evidence.
The role requires experience of using SharePoint, developing metadata and processes to manage large volumes of documents and introducing new and innovative approaches and tools including AI.
Key responsibilities for the role are:
- Driving KM initiatives across the analytical community (AC) to improve quality of evidence, discoverability of content and enrich the user journey
- Developing our KM approach with input from senior stakeholders to embed knowledge capture and tasks into the project lifecycle
- Identifying innovative tools and processes to reduce document processing burden and streamline uploads to knowledge repository
- Engaging senior leaders to promote the knowledge bank and the benefits of good knowledge management
- Identifying and implementing cross cutting solutions that support analysts from all professions and divisions
