We are looking to recruit an enthusiastic and self-motivated individual who would like to join the Pharmacy Stores team at York Hospital. This role involves completing a diverse range of tasks throughout the week on a rotational basis, so flexibility is essential.

Applicants must have a can-do attitude, excellent manual handling skills with experience in moving and lifting.Pharmacy experience is not required, as full training will be provided for this role.

This post involves working across four areas within a busy pharmacy store, answering queries, receiving, processing, and delivering medicines and IV fluids to wards.

An understanding of stock management is crucial to this role; this involves checking, storing, and issuing medicines. The post holder will ensure the safe and secure handling of medication in pharmacy and on wards, participate in daily stock-takes and the checking of medicines, so attention to detail is vital.

The post holder will also undertake various housekeeping duties including receiving and responding to phone calls and emails from colleagues within the Trust, filing documents, processing waste and excess medicines and other duties supporting the efficient and safe operation of the pharmacy department.

The successful applicant with be required to complete a funded NVQ level 2 in pharmacy services.
