Summary
The University of South Wales is an innovative, thriving and sustainable institution that is making a significant contribution to the economic, social and cultural prosperity of the region. Our core purpose is to add value to students and organisations, through applied research and innovation, and through engagement with the economy and society of our region and the wider world.
As part of our wider civic and community engagement work, The University of South Wales is leading the establishment and development of the South Wales Civic Engagement Partnership (SWCEP), an innovative partnership of the five universities and five further education colleges operating in the Cardiff Capital Region. The focus of the partnership is working together towards a shared Civic Mission agenda with a view to addressing societal challenges and inequalities in the region.
Due to the success of the partnership, the University of South Wales is now seeking to appoint a new member of staff to co-ordinate the work of the partnership including events, communications, meeting administration, and to provide support towards monitoring and reporting and the development of a SWCEP web presence. Working closely with the Community Engagement Manager at USW, the wider engagement team within USW
Exchange, and civically engaged staff across the 10 institutions of the partnership, this exciting post will play a vital role in the delivery of the South Wales Civic Engagement Partnership Board strategy in the region
This part-time post is initially funded for a fixed term of 1 year, primarily based at USW’s Pontypridd campus with a requirement to travel to other USW campuses and other partnership institution sites across the Cardiff Capital Region.
If you are a successful external candidate for this position, you will be employed by Professional and Support
Services Limited, a wholly owned subsidiary of the University of South Wales, which provides services to the University and Colleges. If you are an internal candidate, you will continue to be employed by the University of South Wales.
