Crynodeb
The 4 post CCT fellows work a 1 in 4 full shift rota to provide senior SPR cover at night, working alongside another registrar and SHO with prospective cover. On-call consultant is non-resident after 2200 hrs. This is done by doing a fixed weekday night every week and a Friday-Sunday weekend set of nights every month. Job plans are tailored to specific needs and interests of the candidate and usually include some service provision as well as special interests e.g. fetal medicine, maternal medicine, minimal access surgery, urogynaecology, early pregnancy etc. There will be opportunity to obtain a new skill within obstetrics and gynaecology by undertaking an ATSM or to complete ATSMs to make CV more attractive for a consultant job. Most of our previous postholders have successfully obtained substantive consultant jobs in London and beyond.
