We are looking for Data Protection Apprentice to join L&Q in our Data Protection Team. This is an entry level role. The Data Protection Apprentice role at L&Q involves working in a fast-paced environment to strict legal deadlines; managing own workload to complete and respond to subject access requests from individuals in a timely and efficient manner.
Overview of the role:
The successful candidate will be using L&Q systems to search for information requested by individuals under a subject access request. Key responsibilities include managing own workload to allocate, log and complete SARs in a timely and efficient manner. This includes redacting information in line with the Data Protection Act 2018 before a final response is sent to the individual, keeping the SAR log up to date at all times and responding to any queries from individuals about their requests. Additionally, as knowledge and skills increase, responding to queries from other areas of the business and managing minor data breaches.
The apprenticeship learning will support your development and chosen career path. Whilst undertaking your learning programme, your manager will help guide your development and day-to-day work, a mentor will provide extra support throughout your role, and you'll be working alongside experienced colleagues to learn hands-on, work-based skills.
The Data Protection Apprentice will:
Contribute to business performance and customer service delivery whilst operating in line with L&Q’s values.
Work closely and collaboratively with the other Data Protection Administrators, the Data Protection Officer, and Deputy Data Protection Officer, as well as other areas of the business.
Build knowledge of L&Q’s systems and data protection processes and policies.
Liaise with other areas of the business to locate requested information.
Skills and Experience:
Enthusiasm for the role and L&Q.
IT literate – basic knowledge and interest in Data Protection.
High attention to detail.
Ability to understand and be understood, both verbally and in writing.
Ability to work independently, as well as being a good team player in a fast-paced environment.
Good organisational skills and ability to manage/prioritise own workload.
Good problem-solving skills.
Willingness to learn and grow with a positive attitude to work.
GCSEs including English and Maths, Grade 4 or above, or willingness to complete functional skills in English & Maths.
Flexibility to accommodate office days for collaboration.
