Summary
Job description:
Teaching & Learning
Deliver engaging, up-to-date and interactive lessons across all units of the Level 4
Data Analyst Diploma including:
o Legislation and security standards applied to data analytics
o Data fundamentals and lifecycle
o Data structure and databases
o Stakeholder engagement and user experience
o Organisational data
o Data mining and statistical analysis
Use a variety of teaching methods (in-person and digital) to meet diverse learner
needs.
Prepare learners for assessment via practical assignments and portfolios in line with
NCFE guidelines.
Assessment & Quality Assurance
Set and mark assessments, ensuring all learning outcomes are covered and grading
criteria are met.
Provide detailed, constructive feedback to support learner progress.
Participate in internal quality assurance processes and external quality assurance
visits by NCFE.
Student Support
Offer academic and pastoral support to learners, promoting progression into
employment or further study.
Encourage the development of professional behaviours such as problem-solving,
resilience, adaptability and teamwork, as outlined in the course’s behavioural
framework.
Curriculum Development & Planning
Contribute to the planning, review and enhancement of the data analytics curriculum.
Embed industry-relevant tools and technologies (e.g. Python, SQL, Excel, Power BI)
into teaching delivery.
Support contextualisation of course materials for real-world scenarios and data-
driven industries.
Collaboration & Communication
Liaise with colleagues, employers and stakeholders to ensure programme relevance
and to promote work-readiness.
Attend team meetings, training events and standardisation activities.
Person specification:
Essential:
A degree in Data Science, or Computer Science, or Statistics, or Mathematics or in a
related discipline
Experience in data analyst role or teaching data analytics at FE/HE level
Proficiency in data analysis tools (e.g. Python, SQL, Excel, Power BI)
Excellent communication and organisational skills
Understanding of safeguarding, equality and diversity, and health and safety in an
educational setting
Desirable:
Teaching qualification (e.g. PGCE, Cert Ed, or Level 5 Diploma in Education and
Training) or willingness to work towards one
Experience in delivering NCFE, HTQ or apprenticeship qualifications
Familiarity with assessment and portfolio-based learning
Understanding of current and emerging trends in data analytics and digital skills
development
Assessor qualifications and IQA qualifications
