If this speaks to your professional aspirations, we are keen to welcome on board a Skilled Train Technician at our Allerton TrainCare Centre. Here you’ll be at the forefront of the innovative train maintenance to ensure the safe and efficient operation of our electric trains; offering a unique opportunity to impact our daily services and improve rail travel across the North.
The Engineering Team is dedicated to maintaining and servicing our traction and rolling stock to the highest standards. As a Skilled Train Technician, you’ll focus your attention on our electric units and future fleet. You’ll carry out maintenance, servicing, fault finding, repair, and overhaul of traction and rolling stock, components, and equipment. Depending on the severity of the faults you find, will depend on whether the train can be worked; so, you’re our first line of defence in keeping the fleet moving.
With your main focus on our electric units, you’ll use your expertise in diagnostic software to proactively fault find, problem solve and carry out root cause analysis to prevent similar faults happening in the future. This a role of purpose; it’s not just about changing engines, repairing traction motors, or making internal repairs and general maintenance – you’ll be contributing to our overall mission of improving rail travel.
It’s an exciting time to join our Engineering Team, as we are transforming and developing skillsets, to help us get the right people, on the right units, at the right time.
