This is an exciting opportunity for a clinician to join the CLCH Academy team to support the learning and clinical development of the Allied Health Professionals (AHP) workforce in adult and children’s community pathways of care. Our AHP workforce comprises of dietitians, occupational therapists, orthoptists, paramedics, physiotherapists, podiatrists and speech and language therapists and we welcome applications from all AHP professions that we support at CLCH.



The PD AHP workforce is currently underrepresented in dietetics and would encourage applicants from this professional group to consider applying for the role.

The successful candidate would be joining the CLCH Academy based in Central London. The post holder will predominately be working in the outer Northwest division.



The salary in the advert reflects the pay increase for 2024-2025. Please be advised that this increase will not come into effect until October 2024 when any monies owed will be back paid.



We are seeking to recruit an enthusiastic senior clinician who wishes to develop their skills in the development of the AHP workforce. The post holder will support the clinical workforce to develop skills to deliver safe, evidence-based patient centred interventions in the community setting



You would be professionally supported by the AHP Practice Educator Lead. We would encourage you to develop and optimise your potential in a nurturing environment through a well-supported professional and managerial academy.

Ensuring the quality and range of learning and development opportunities for all bands of clinical staff within the registered and unregistered AHP workforce to ensure safe and effective patient care and practice.

Support and facilitate the development of AHP clinical practice through ensuring appropriate support mechanisms such as supervision, direct observations of practice competency frameworks and learning contracts are being implemented.

Develop, co-ordinate, provide and evaluate training programmes and development activities for all registered and unregistered AHP clinical staff.

Develop strategies which enhance AHP staff recruitment, career development workforce objectives and staff satisfaction.

Work in close liaison with the Clinical Practice & Education Development Leads, AHP Lead Chief AHP, Professional AHPs, Divisional Director of Nursing & Therapies (DDNTs) external Integrated Care Boards (ICB)and national AHP forums.

Promote and role model high standards of care through the demonstration of clinical expertise and quality improvement

Role model and facilitate a positive learning environment in the workplace where staff development is encouraged and supported.

Facilitate induction, education and continuing professional development for all levels of registered and non-registered AHP staff within the division, profession and / or speciality

To work with the Academy team, AHP Lead, Chief AHP, Professional AHPs and Clinical Leads to identify specific training needs and plan programmes to ensure staff are competent and have the right skills to undertake their roles.

To work with the Academy team, AHP Clinical Practice & Education Lead, Chief AHP, Lead AHP, clinical teams, Heads of Clinical Services (HOCS), Divisional Director of Nursing and Therapies (DDNTs) as an ambassador for practice development.

To support Professional AHP Leads, DDNTs and Clinical Leads in planning, implementing, and evaluating practice changes in line with evidence and best practice.
