Grade:2: Salary £23,317 to £26,402 per annum pro rata
(plus generous staff benefits package)
(Initial salary placement will normally be on the first point of the scale and will increase by annual incremental progression)
Hours: 21 per week, (Monday, Tuesday and Thursday) x 38 weeks (Term Time)
Temporary for 1 year

This is a critical, highly skilled position reporting directly to the Curriculum Quality Leader. We are seeking a customer focussed Student Support Worker to complement our existing Learner Development Team. You will provide support for students with additional support needs, attending West College Scotland, in classroom situations and also social spaces within the College. As part of the team you will work closely with lecturing staff to provide support to male and female students in classroom situations and in social spaces.

We are looking to recruit a highly skilled worker and as you would expect for a role of this level, the postholder needs to have a relevant qualification and have broad experience of working with young people with a range of additional support needs in an education / training setting and have experience of supporting students to engage in community based activities. Also you will have good verbal and written level of communication skills, and be self motivated, and a good team player.
