Join us as an Apprentice HGV mechanic and develop your skills to help us deliver what matters by keeping our vehicles on the road.

The size and diversity of our fleet means you'll have the opportunity to develop and expand your mechanical skills and help repair various types of Heavy Goods Vehicles.

During this time you will undertake an Apprenticeship, experience continuous personnel development through on the job training and become a fully skilled and qualified Vehicle Mechanic/Technician maintaining a wide range of municipal vehicles and plant.

Regular assessment and reviews will be undertaken within the workplace with dedicated mentors on hand and exposure to the widest selection of vehicles available in a modern municipal fleet.

The workplace experience is designed to ensure that you have the required skills to successfully complete your apprenticeship.

You will train through an established Mechanical Engineering College to IMI Level 5-7 in Heavy Vehicle Maintenance & Repair for a fixed term of 3 years.

Requirements

You must have or expect to gain National 4 or above in English, Maths, and either a Science or Technical Subject.

The Individual

We are looking for candidates who want to kickstart their career in the automotive industry and who are keen to learn.

You must be dedicated and have a proactive approach to your work and learning.

Time management and punctuality must be to a high standard.

A willingness to work in a practical environment using your own initiative.

A full UK Driving licence is preferred but not essential.
