Summary
We are offering you the opportunity to work for Jewish Care and be involved in the fascinating and varied world of charitable legacies and giving in memory donations. Our target for legacy income this year is £4.7m and a further £100,000 plus for Giving in Memory Donations – so you can see it is quite a task.
We are seeking a Legacy and Giving in Memory Administrator to join our team and help us achieve our annual target for the charity.
You will be a dedicated and passionate person who is prepared to go the extra mile to fulfil this role. The successful person will work with our Legacy and Giving in Memory Manager and our Legacy and Giving in Memory Lead, providing them with support both with specific tasks relating to legacy administration and giving in memory donations, as well as marketing initiatives and event organisation.
Prior experience is not as important as the desire to learn about what might be a new and unique area of fundraising for you. You will need to be equally comfortable with administrative tasks as well as the more creative aspects of legacy and giving in memory marketing.
This post is a full time position working Monday to Friday. It is a hybrid role, with a minimum of 2 days in the office. We might be prepared to consider alternative working patterns.
You may also be asked to provide support at fundraising events and ad hoc team tasks out of normal office hours.
What you will be doing:- Perform the administrative tasks involved in legacy giving and in-memory donations, from initial contact to final documentation and acknowledgment.
- Ensure that all legal and administrative requirements related to legacy gifts are met.
- Maintain a comprehensive legacy and giving in memory donor database, keeping records accurate and up to date.
- Oversee independent free will making service
- Prepare reports and analytics on legacy and in-memory giving programs for internal and external use.
- Assist in the planning and execution of donor events and recognition programs.
- Assist with other initiatives to grow these income streams
- Stay updated on current trends and best practices in legacy and in-memory giving.
- Proven administration experience in nonprofit fundraising, if possible but not essential in legacy and in-memory giving.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Attention to detail and excellent organisational abilities.
- Proficiency in donor management software and databases Raisers Edge, other CRM systems.
- Some understanding of legal and financial aspects of legacy giving and open to gaining knowledge through self-learning and by attending courses and seminars organised by outside organisations including Solicitors and the Institute of Legacy Management to increase understanding of Charitable Legacy Administration
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Ability to prioritise tasks and ensure that each task is completed within the given time frame
