We are seeking an experienced administrator with excellent communication, organisational and people management skills, to assist the Clerk with the efficient management of the day-to-day business of the Community Council.

The post would be office based, 5 days per week and requires a good level of administrative and financial knowledge. An understanding of local government would be an advantage.

A flexible approach to the work and working hours is required and you should be prepared to undertake additional duties as and when required, with an evening meeting on a monthly basis and annual weekend events. The ability to work effectively as part of a small team is vital and the ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this role.

The post entails a variety of administrative duties, including:
• Dealing with Funeral Directors / Stonemasons – maintaining funeral details, invoicing, banking and accounts.
• Organising events such as the annual Christmas event and Armistice parade, also school events including a bi-monthly Youth Council meeting, and the Low Carbon Communities project.
• Assisting the Clerk in managing staff and additional services such as Community Centers, Play Areas and grant applications.
• Managing a local Community Centre, liaising with staff, users and contractors, invoicing, booking and maintaining records.
• Everyday assisting with preparation of meetings, agendas, minutes etc.
• Frontline initial telephone and personal contact with the public to resolve community complaints/issues which would require excellent customer service skills.
• Maintaining the website.
