Crynodeb
Wingham Wildlife Park is a family run wildlife park with big emphasis on animal husbandry, conservation and education. They are looking for candidates with a passion and interest in animals, with a willingness to learn and adapt to different environments.
Key responsibilities will be;
the day to day husbandry of animals on their section
observational note taking
assisting with preparing diets
providing enrichment and assisting with animal training.
Conducting public talks and guest experience.
Maintaining exhibits and other areas
24 month fixed term contract, statutory holiday, staff discounts, in house training, plus access to an extensive training budget covering external workshops.
Training
All training provided at the employers premises with the employer and Haddon training.
Qualifications required
Some animal related experience would be desirable but not essential. GCSE grade 9-4 or equivalent in Maths and English.
Skills required
Good verbal and written skills
willingness to learn
good observation skills
Prospects
Possibility of further employment after completion of the apprenticeship. Access to an extensive training budget which can cover external online CPD relevant courses.
Qualification / Standard : ST0789 Keeper and aquarist
Duration 15 Months
