Job Description

Based at Claverhouse East Office, Jack Martin Way, you will work full time, 37 hours per week.

Requirements

You will have a Social Work Degree, CQSW, Dip SW, CSS (with appropriate option).

Responsibilities

You will provide an effective high quality social work service to children and families affected by disability. You will assist children and families to live safely in the community and so prevent reception into care. You will work with children in care towards rehabilitation with their families of origin or towards permanent placement with substitute families.

The Individual

You will have experience of working with children and families and of collaborative work with other agencies. You will be able to demonstrate knowledge of child care and protection practice and legislation.

You will have experience of work with children with disabilities.

You will have the ability to be registered with the Scottish Social Services Council within a specified time.

This post is considered regulated work with adults under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. The preferred candidate will be required to join the PVG scheme or undergo a PVG scheme update check prior to a formal offer of employment being made by Dundee City Council.
