What you’ll be doing
The position of Quality Advisor sits in SPT Major Projects who are the Engineering and Construction arm of the SPEN business. The role will be supporting large scale CDM projects and monitoring a variety of subcontractors workmanship., The role is hybrid working but will involve inspecting several sites within the SPEN network area, which is Stirling to Scottish Borders.
As a Quality Advisor, you will be working as part of the project teams on multi-million-pound energy construction projects.
You will support the project team – this includes interaction with engineering, project management, construction, contractors, and other project stakeholders to ensure effective works planning and coordination regarding quality performance to ensure projects comply with processes and procedures and the correct product is delivered on the ground.
The project types range from refurbishment of existing substations and Overhead Lines to new substation builds and new OHL builds and underground cable installation, which have disaggregated work packages and multiple contractors delivering one project. Broken into Civil, enabling works, Balance of Plant, commissioning and free issue supply contracts. Problem solving and influencing others is a key aspect of the role
You’ll support a number of projects at one time at varying stages through development, tender, construction and commissioning, while working to the agreed project programmes and ensure quality documents and requirements are produced in a timely manner. Proactively you’ll engage with Project teams to organise site inspections and carry out the site inspections on a risk based focusing on the poorer performing sites.
What you’ll bring

You’ll ideally come with an engineering or construction related qualification along with the following:


• Working knowledge of raising and managing Non-Conformances in a construction Environment
• You’ll come from an engineering or construction background
• Experience in Tender reviews
• Experience in Contractor Management
• Experience in Training PM and Construction individuals
• Understanding of ISO 9001
• Understanding of root cause analysis
• Understanding of objectives, KPIS and Reporting
