Summary
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Therapy Assistant to join our award winning Long COVID Team which is based at St John's Information Centre (Tickhill Road Hospital).
The Doncaster Long COVID Service offers assessment and treatment of patients with ongoing symptoms following COVID-19 infection or suspected COVID 19. We offer a wide range of interventions to help treat the symptoms of long COVID and support the patient in the self-management of this condition. Interventions are delivered through one to one clinic appointments, group classes and occasional home visits.
We are interested to hear from applicants with good communication skills, experience of autonomous working and a passion to improve the lives of people living with Long Covid as a Long Term Condition.
Working Hours and Pattern: 37.5 hours a week Monday to Friday.
Part time and flexible working can also be considered.
Access to transport and the ability to travel within the required geographical area is necessary.
To be an active member of the multidisciplinary team with contribution to excellent patient centred care.
To be a positive ambassador for the service.
To work with patients in the Doncaster area.
To build up a caseload of patients following initial assessment by a Physiotherapist or Occupational Therapist
To carry out appropriate and timely reviews and treatments for patients.
To deliver treatment and rehabilitation programmes which are mainly in clinic and sometimes in patient’s homes and at Doncaster Dome.
To educate individuals to self-manage their longer term health needs.
To follow a plan of care as prescribed by the relevant professional.
To report outcomes and evaluations back to qualified staff.
To develop clinical competency and skills through support and training, and to maintain skills through regular review in supervision.
To assist colleagues in their contributions to ongoing service development.
