The role
As a Project Planner, you'll have a role that's out of the ordinary where you'll be part of a team that creates the work packages for the nuclear submarines during decommissioning and disposal projects on site at Devonport.

Day-to-day, you'll handle a wide variety of projects all at difference stages in their project lifecycle, from planning to project closure.

  • Assist the Scheduling Manager and their team of Schedulers in compiling and producing the project controls and metric reporting packs for the Submarine Support business unit
  • Distribute, collect, and quality check all project information for reports that are required for Senior Management/Directors meetings
  • Attend weekly schedule reviews, input updates and monitor/escalate any change or impact to the project
  • Upkeep and maintenance of the integrated master schedule
  • Deputising for the Senior Schedulers at meeting and reviews where appropriate

This role is full time, 35 hours per week and provides hybrid working arrangements with 2-3 days in the office/onsite and 2-3 days working from home.

Essential experience of the Project Planner:

  • Have either a project or engineering background
  • Demonstrable knowledge and use of the Microsoft Office packages: Outlook, Excel, Word & PowerPoint
  • Some knowledge of scheduling software (although all training will be provided): Primavera (P6), Microsoft Project, Visio or OnePager
  • Knowledge of submarine/ship systems is beneficial

Qualifications for the Project Planner:

  • GCSE's or equivalent A-C Grade
  • NVQ 3 or equivalent in Project Management or engineering discipline
  • Project Management / APM qualification is desirable

Security Clearance
The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain Standard (BPSS) / Security Check (SC) security clearance for this role.
