**Role Summary** :

As Development Engineer you will be responsible for the design/development of new products and maintaining the designs, drawings and product documentation of existing group products. Ensuring adherence to legal compliance of machinery and associated adherence to health and safety legislation.

**Main duties and responsibilities**


* **Technical Resource-** Develop a solid understanding of existing products to impart technical information and product application advice. Interacting with Sales when supporting new product adoption and to gain market feedback is key.
* **New Product Development-** Manage new product developments to agreed timescales and budgets, delivering on time and on budget. Generate creative ideas/solutions, and work with those of others, to move the companys products forward.
* **Prototype Manufacture and Testing**
* **Supporting Contract Designers**
* **Testing**
* **Supporting and Leading Others**
* **Product Documentation**
* **Standard Drawings Control**

**About you:**

This is a role for a technically competent mechanical engineer with a focus on design, development, and project management. The role is for someone with experience in developing, and maintaining drawings of engineering products who is willing to share their experience to bring on other members of the team.

The role will extensively use AutoCAD and SolidWorks to produce drawings and CAD models of both existing and new products and will involve the building and testing of new designs and prototypes as development projects require.

Applicants with an appreciation of assembly and wider production processes and capabilities used in the production of conveyors and associated material handling equipment would be of particular interest.
