Calling CAMHS Core professions: CBT practitioners, clinical/ counselling psychologists, family systemic psychotherapists, mental health nurses, child psychotherapists, CAMHS occupational therapists, social workers!
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced clinical manager to join the new Wave 9 Hounslow Mental Health Support Team(0.5 part-time). We want to hear from CAMHS professionals with significant experience of day to day operational leadership, and offering supervision and line management to clinicians.
It is essential you hold a relevant clinical qualification and have previous experience of working in a CAMHS team. Experience of working in education would be a bonus. You will be responsible for the delivery of a high quality and responsive CAMHS service, including implementation and review of systems, policies, standards and procedures within frameworks agreed by the Trust, partner agencies and commissioners.
This role is a chance to make a difference in young lives, and as such includes both operational management and clinical duties.
The main focus is to:
· Provide day to day senior operational management and leadership for the clinical functioning of the MHST’s whilst working alongside service leaders to develop and implement a wide range of interventions and projects with local schools.
· Lead on and directly providing comprehensive assessment, risk management and interventions for young people experiencing emotional and mental health difficulties.
· Work with school staff and cultures in developing school environments that are more conducive to supporting sustainably better emotional health and wellbeing.
This is a challenging and rewarding role that will provide a talented and ambitious manager with real scope to develop and influence practice. If you are interested in working with schools and want to help shape new models of evidence-based support for CYP, this job could be for you!
Hounslow was one of the first sites to benefit from significant investment to develop a trailblazer MHST,as outlined in the Young People’s Mental Health Green Paper. Hundreds of CYP have now accessed guided self- help and group work support, with encouraging feedback and clinical outcomes. We are excited to set up our 4thMHST enabling us reach more schools and focus on early intervention and prevention.
Each team currently comprises Band 5 Education Wellbeing Practitioners and Children’s Wellbeing Practitioners, high intensity CBT Therapists, a CAMHS Specialist MH Practitioner/ Supervisor and Team Lead. The teams are overseen by the MHST Managers and supported by a Team Administrator.
All new employees are provided with the necessary training, equipment and support during this period. The successful candidate will be supported in completing the CYP-IAPT Supervisor training which is essential for the role.
