Summary
The South Thames Paediatric Network (www.stpn.uk) was established in 2018, and is hosted by Evelina London Children’s Hospital, part of Guy’s and St Thomas’s NHS Foundation Trust. The Network works collaboratively with clinical teams, commissioners and other networks across South London, Kent, Surrey and Sussex. The region has 23 hospitals, 5 Integrated Care Systems and works with Specialised Commissioners for London and South England.
Our vision is to ‘Improve healthcare for children and young people, together’by ensuring that all children in the network have access to high quality specialist care at the appropriate time and place and by improving standardisation of care through agreed pathways, quality standards, governance and shared learning. Providing high quality education to a range of clinical MDT teams is a vital part of our role within our network region.

We are looking for an experienced Clinical Educator, who should be a registered paediatric trained nurse with either a general paediatrics or a specialty background. They should feel confident to develop a strategic and research based approach to MDT education, providing expert clinical advice, training and education, and have a willingness to learn and apply their knowledge and skills in order to deliver the network’s comprehensive educational programme. The post holder will work closely with the core STPN team, clinical leads and local clinical teams, and manage the deputy clinical educators and the education administrator.
The ideal candidate will bring relevant digital and technology skills with experience of creating, hosting and delivering MDT educational sessions via a range of IT and educational platforms. The post holder will also assist in the development of the online educational section of the Network website, including the creation of content and relevant educational links, and manage the Moodle platform. The post holder should be an expert collaborator, communicator and networker to be able to make strong and effective relationship with nurse educators from across the Network area.
Our current work streams focus on Paediatric Critical Care, Surgery in Children, Long Term Ventilation, Epilepsy, Rehabilitation and Urgent Clinical Need Response. The core STPN team is comprised of two joint Clinical Director, two joint Network Managers, Project Managers, Nurse Leads, one AHP Clinical Lead, an Analyst, Project Coordinators and an Education team. We are joined by our appointed work stream Clinical Leads. We have a busy and exciting portfolio of work and are therefore looking for enthusiastic and energetic people to join our team. The post holder will be an experienced NHS Clinical Educator with a good understanding of cross organisational working, and with experience of working with multidisciplinaryclinical teams. The post holder will have the ability to work autonomously and to engage and communicate with a wide and diverse range of stakeholders. The post holder will have a permanent contract with Evelina London (via Guy’s and ST Thomas’ NHS Foundation Trust (GSTT)) enabling them to access in house support and training.
