The role holder is accountable for the management of the Driver Certificate of Professional Competence (Driver CPC), Drink-Drive Rehabilitation (DDR) and carriage of dangerous goods (ADR) schemes.
In particular, they will oversee the Agency’s accreditation of training delivered by approved providers, the quality assurance process to ensure that training standards are maintained, and the contract management of third-party service providers.
The role holder will have a detailed understanding of the policy context and legislative frameworks that in which the schemes operate. They will provide advice to senior colleagues and to the Department, as required and build effective relationships with stakeholders.
The role holder is accountable for the production of detailed product specifications, quality measures and standards which form part of the overarching National Standards and Training Accreditation service.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Ensure self and team complies with DVSA (DfT) policies and statutory obligations by managing the team and performance to ensure quality service levels are met.
- Line manage a team and undertake required HR functions; oversee a budget and take responsibility for financial management; contribute to critical branch management responsibilities, including risk management, information assurance and ensuring required Governance.
- Define standards, quality expectations and service levels required.
- Ensure the contractors conform to departmental, statutory and regulatory obligations including information security and data handling, performance and delivery standards in a cost effective and efficient manner.
- Ensure quality control checks are in place and carried out, with any irregularities investigated and addressed.
