Foundation Programme Director – East Region (E02 Programme FY1 & FY2)

Hours: Part Time, 1 PA (4 hours per week)

Duration: Fixed Term / Secondment for 36 months*

NHS Education for Scotland (NES) is the national health board with statutory responsibilities to effect sustainable change through workforce development, education and training across the health and social care system in Scotland, while working at UK level with partner organisations.

This will be across 1 PA of time (1PA = 4 hours)

The Foundation Programme Director (FPD) will be responsible for managing a Foundation Programme (E02 FY1 & FY2) and the education and training needs of each individual on the programme (approximately 30 trainees).

We are delighted to encourage applications for a Foundation Programme Director based in the East region. The FPD supports the teaching programmes and are local Foundation contact and are regularly asked to gather QM type information for their units.

The FPD should be a Consultant, GP or SAS doctor with a permanent contract and is accountable to the Postgraduate Dean or appropriate Associate Postgraduate Dean. They may also combine the role with that of an educational and/or clinical supervisor. All applicants must confirm prior to interview that their employer would support a Service Level Agreement for this role within their job plan.

Salary Scale: Consultant, Associate Adviser or other appropriate payscale.

Some travel throughout Scotland may be required.
