About The Role
Based at Lincolnshire Archives, Lincoln, with flexible hybrid working, you will be responsible for processing Definitive Map Modification Order applications and Public Path Order proposals across the County and other duties associated with the upkeep of the Definitive Map and Statement in line with the Council's policies and procedures.
About You
You will be required to understand and apply legislation and case law relating to the Definitive Map and Statement, research and interpret a wide range of historical and other documents and be able to liaise with and communicate complex information to a variety of people and organisations, including members of the public, applicants, landowners, agents, consultants, solicitors, elected Members and colleagues.
You will have excellent administrative, analytical and IT skills, and preferably have experience working with GIS mapping systems. You will have the ability to work without supervision across the County to undertake fieldwork, interview witnesses, attend meetings and represent the Council at public inquiries, as required.
Ideally, you will be educated to degree level and/or or have previous experience of Definitive Map work, but these are not essential requirements. Given the specialised nature of the work, you'll receive strong support upon joining the team. You'll be mentored to help you quickly find your footing and succeed in your new role. As this role is mobile across the county, you will need to hold a full valid driving license and have access to a vehicle.
