DCHS has an exciting opportunity for a HCA Lead to join our Sexual Health Service.
The HCA Lead within the Sexual Health Services will compassionately support and lead a team of dedicated and hard- working HCAs.
Support the smooth day to day operation of the clinical hubs and peripheral clinics, in partnership with the Admin Team Lead and Roster Co-ordinator, overseeing the rostering of HCA shifts and clinic activity via the Inform and e-Rostering systems.
Ensure all equipment across North county is maintained appropriately e.g., arrange calibration/PAT tests/servicing etc. of equipment as necessary and maintain accurate records.
Ensure safe, effective HCA staffing levels at all locations.
Support the management team to embed a culture of openness and learning, ensuring staff feel able to; voice concerns, constructively challenge one another and support one another positively and constructively through difficulties.
Lead and support the Sexual Health Quality Always Champions at Wheatbridge/North Peripherals and produce effective communications in conjunction with the Sexual Health Communications team and other colleagues.
Oversee the HCA functions at Wheatbridge and North of the county peripheral sexual health services. This will include day to day line management of HCA staff including recruitment, training, regular 1-1s, team meetings and annual appraisals.
Promote and embed a culture in which multi-disciplinary teams strive for continuous quality improvement, by recording and learning from mistakes and complaints.
Encourage the development of any staff directly managed, to their full potential through systematic individual performance review and the establishment of personal development plans, reflecting the needs of the service, organisation, and the individual.
Maintain efficient and workable manual and electronic systems and databases, to include ordering systems and staff records. Ensuring files and records are stored and retrieved appropriately.
Be a supportive, approachable and fair, point of contact for HCA staff.
Provide effective, robust daily line management to the HCA staff at Wheatbridge, and North county peripherals.
This will include but is not limited to; ESR, appraisals, one to ones, sickness/absence management and the recruitment process.
With the appropriate training, to to provide support and assistance with Vasectomy clinics and assist the surgeon during the vasectomy procedure.
