You'll play a key role in helping CBS to support and realise our group vision of 'co-operating to build more value for member-owners everyday'.
You'll take ownership for processing and reconciling Funeralcare accounts, making sure that financial integrity is maintained and that all queries and changes are resolved within agreed time frames. If you're a strong communicator with great organisational skills and the ability to empower a team of colleagues, then this could be a great opportunity for you to gain valuable exposure and develop your skills.
What you'll do
- Accurately upload data feeds to the reconciliation system and ensure the figures balance
- Review and reconcile multiple bank accounts daily and be responsible for producing period end balance sheet reconciliations, analysing variances, and ensuring aged items are resolved
- Prepare and post journals to resolve reconciling items and issue query reports to partners, chasing up responses and acting on the information provided to resolve unreconciled bank transactions
- Support with the smooth running of the team, making sure that targets are met, and any day-to-day issues are resolved quickly
- Produce process documentation and training guides and assist with projects and collate, extract, and interpret data from departmental systems
- Provide regular updates to team managers about any outstanding issues, and flag problems where necessary to discuss resolutions
This role would suit people who have
- Strong experience of reconciliations work and handling high volumes of transactions and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment with multiple deliverables
- Good general IT skills and the ability to quickly learn new systems with intermediate Microsoft Excel skills (you can use tools such as VLOOKUPs and pivot tables)
- Great customer service skills with the ability to build meaningful relationships with internal and external partners
- A high level of accuracy and attention to detail and the ability to work well as part of a team, and to coach and mentor colleagues
Why Co-op?
If you have the skills that we need, we can offer you a competitive salary and great benefits package which includes 30% off Co-op branded products in our food stores (as well as other discounts on Co-op products and services).
- An annual bonus (based on personal and business performance)
- 28 days holiday (rising to 32 with service) plus bank holidays
- A pension with up to 10% employer contributions
- Access to a subsidised onsite gym (at our Manchester HQ)
- Coaching and training to support your career development
- Wagestream app - giving you access to a percentage of your pay as you earn
- YuLife app - rewarding you for exercising with discounts and vouchers for your favourite brands
