Gear cutter

£35,000 or £17.25 per hour + overtime at 1.5, Bonus, permanent, Bristol BS2, 39 hours per week Monday to Friday, early finish Friday, 25 days holiday + bank holidays, Pension, sick scheme.

Our client is a friendly and established precision engineering company with a small but friendly team of engineers looking for a skilled gear cutter, gear planer, gear hobber.

The gear cutter, gear planer, gear hobber role will see you carrying out duties such as:

  • Gear cutting
  • Gear planing
  • Gear hobbing
  • Cutting splines, or sprockets
  • Operating gear cutting machines
  • Reads engineering drawings
  • You will manage your own workload with jobs allocated from the engineering supervisor.
  • This role will allow you to get on with your work unsupervised with your allocated jobs

The gear cutter, gear planer, gear hobber is likely to a have a work history in precision engineering producing gear parts for use in various sectors.

The successful candidate is likely to have served an engineering apprenticeship, however candidates who are time served in this area of machining could also be suitable if they can demonstrate a suitable track record in gear cutting, or cutting splines, or cutting sprockets or .

Any experience working with gear cutting machinery would be an advantage, however any previous experience working in gear cutting, cutting splines, or cutting sprockets on hobbing machines or other types of gear cutting machines would be of interest.

Candidates will need to demonstrate the ability to work from engineering drawings to produce machined parts and components to deadlines accurately.

This gear cutter, gear planer, gear hobber role is working for a friendly, well-established company who are specialist in their field of precision engineering and would suit an engineer looking to get on with your own work with a company that will let you work autonomously.

Salary:£35,000 or £17.25 per hour, + overtime at 1.5 Bonus

Benefits: 25 days + bank holiday, pension, sick scheme

Hours: 39 Monday to Friday, early finish Friday

Location: Bristol BS2

Duration: Permanent
