PURPOSE OF THE JOB To provide leadership and effective management of all equality, diversity, inclusion, and co-production activity enabling improved accessibility and equality of opportunity for all stakeholders across the LMWS service. KEY DUTIES/RESPONSIBLITIES 1. To lead on, manage and annually review the services Health Equity Action Plan in collaboration with the LMWS Board. 2. Within the Health Equity action plan, there will be a focus on four elements which are; Leadership, Workforce, Service Delivery and Population Health 3. To ensure the LMWS Board is supported to embed Co-Production principles into decision making and to effectively facilitate the engagement and involvement of the LMWS Co-Production Network. 4. To lead, motivate, develop and coach staff within the Coproduction team and a team of Inclusion officers. . 5. To ensure the service has robust arrangements in place to capture, analyse and act on equality monitoring data to inform service improvements and employment best practice. 6. To write and present annual diversity audit reports covering employment and service delivery. 7. To Chair and lead on working/sub/task & finish groups as directed by the LMWS Board. 8. To work closely with all Cluster managers and their teams to ensure consistency of approach and be the point of contact for expert advice including the delivery of briefing sessions. 9. To draft relevant policies, procedures and strategies as directed by the LMWS Board or line manager. 10. To draft and present contract monitoring/performance reports to the commissioner on work related to health inequalities, peer support and co-production. 11. To work in partnership with HR and Strategic Delivery/Operational Delivery colleagues to inform inclusive staff recruitment, retention and development strategies. 12. To deliver and facilitate learning and training sessions as directed by the Partnership Board, the Strategic Delivery Group/Operational Delivery Group. 13. To deliver induction seminars to the LMWS workforce outlining the work that the Inclusion Team deliver within LMWS. 14. To lead on specified projects/development work as directed by the LMWS Board/Strategic Delivery Group and line manager. 15. To support the service to lead on and facilitate service user consultation and involvement activities. 16. To develop links, relationships and alliances with organisations in the city representing protected characteristic groups and diverse communities. 17. To represent the service on local, regional and national equality/diversity/health inequalities networks/forums. 18. To support development of protected characteristics staff support and network groups through the Inclusion Coordinator role 19. To keep up to date and share knowledge around current legislative, public policy and best practice advice and guidance on equality, diversity and inclusion matters. MANAGING STAFF 1. To provide day to day leadership to the team of paid staff in line with Touchstones policies. To ensure that staff carry out the key tasks expected of them. 2. To carry out regularly supervisions and annual Touchstone employee appraisals. Monitor individual performance against agreed targets. 3. To conduct regular Training Needs Analyses with all employees in the team. 4. To ensure that employees adhere to Touchstones policies and procedures. 5. To lead and participate in the recruitment, selection and induction of Touchstone employees as appropriate. SERVICE DEVELOPMENT 1. To maintain an up-to-date knowledge of equality, diversity, inclusion and co- production and to apply this knowledge to the needs of the LMWS service 2. To develop and maintain a cohesive service team that meets the needs of the LMWS service and its partners. FINANCE 1. To effectively manage delegated budgets and ensure all purchasing is undertaken in accordance with Touchstones expectations. 2. To ensure that premises are well maintained and comply with relevant legislation and regulations. GENERAL 1. To take part in the Manager on Call Rota, providing assistance to Touchstone staff out of office hours. 2. To actively promote and provide information about the LMWS service and equal opportunities best practice to other Touchstone services and to people/agencies with an interest in the work of the LMWS. 3. To be inducted, supervised, performance monitored and appraised in line with the organisations performance management policies and procedures. 4. To be responsible for personal learning and development where appropriate and undertake training, both mandatory and optional, to increase knowledge, skills and awareness. 5. To provide monitoring information and reports as part of funding and organisational requirements and for the Board of Trustees as requested by Touchstone management. 6. To be aware of and employ the general practices of Touchstones health and safety policy and ensure these are adhered to at all times. 7. To operate within the values, aims, policies and practices of Touchstone at all times and to be committed to and promote the organisations equal opportunities and anti-discriminatory policies. 8. To keep the Operations Director informed of serious incidents, safeguarding issues, health & safety concerns, financial issues, service user and staff welfare issues. 9. To be aware of and employ the general practices of organisational Safeguarding and Health and Safety policies and ensure these are adhered to at all times. 10. To ensure that appropriate monitoring and evaluation systems are set up and maintained. This includes the development of new record keeping systems, analysing information and compiling reports based on qualitative and quantitative monitoring and evaluation data as required by commissioners and Touchstone. 11. To lead on the development and maintenance of links with public and voluntary sector partners. 12. To always work as part of a team. This includes working with other staff, attending team and staff meetings and developing a teamwork approach to all aspects of the work. 13. To be an information asset owner ensuring information is dealt with in accordance with information governance, data protection and GDPR eg including carrying out data protection impact assessments, data flow, service records of process activity. Also to prepare information in accordance with data subject access requests. 14. To ensure that staff attend mandatory training on information governance, data protection and GDPR and Policies are adhered eg Confidentiality, Communications, Internet, Email and Telecommunications and steps are taken to ensure that confidential information is secure e.g. service user data 15. To ensure information is dealt with in accordance with Touchstones policies around GDPR, Confidentiality, Communications, Internet, Email and Telecommunications and steps are taken to ensure that confidential information is secure e.g. volunteer and service user data. 16. To ensure that Data Protection, Health & Safety, Complaints Handling and Corporate Governance requirements are met. 17. To undertake out of hours and weekend work as required by the service. 18. To undertake any other duties as directed by the Operations Director, in line with the responsibilities of this post. July 2024
