Role - Social Care Assistant (Day)
Location
35hrs - Hawthorn House (G22 5HE), Orchard Grove (G42 0HS), Meadowburn (G53 5AQ)
24hrs - Hawthorn House (G22 5HE), Victoria Gardens (G13 3BE), Meadowburn (G53 5AQ)
Salary – Starting hourly rate of £12.58 - see attached further breakdown
Hours and Shift Pattern – 24 and 35 hours per week - see attached further breakdown

Our Glasgow City Care Homes provide care and support in enabling surroundings to our residents 24/7 where you would work 12 hour shifts. You should hold values which promote the well-being of older people and a desire to support others with compassion and kindness while respecting their rights and choices within their daily lives. To work in Social Care you need the right qualities, but you gain the qualifications while in the job. This post will require you to have a suitable qualification to allow you to register with the Scottish Social Services Council as a support worker within a care home. Glasgow City Council will provide support and meet the cost for undertaking this requirement.

Registration to the Scottish Social Services Council (SSSC) is an essential requirement for this role. You must either be already registered or have applied within 3 months and be registered within 6 months from your start date. Please note as part of the local government pay deal, local authority staff are currently not required to pay SSSC fees.
Membership of the Protection of Vulnerable Groups Scheme will be essential on taking up appointment. Please note successful candidates for the above position will be required to pay for their PVG Membership/or Scheme Checks.
