Summary
About the Role
Sutton Council is seeking an experienced pension professional to fill the Senior pensions position,in its shared LGPS service with Kingston Council.
The successful applicant will be responsible for controlling and processing calculations, with minimal management oversight, who will be responsible for delivering a comprehensive and effective service by ensuring all LGPS benefits are paid accurately and in accordance with the statutory and legislative requirements of the Local Government Pension Scheme.
In particular, the role will focus on the calculation and payment of retirement benefits, the production of member estimates and quotes and the calculation and payment of all types of death benefits etc.
About Us
Working within established frameworks and procedures but with the freedom to apply professional judgement to solve problems. Roles will be a mix of supervisors and individual contributors. Work will be reviewed on an ongoing basis for fit with requirements.
This role is a fully remote post but Hybrid working is also available at the Civic Offices, Sutton.
About You
To be successful in this position you will have:
Knowledge of the regulatory framework of the Local Government Pension Scheme and experience working for or with such a scheme, or similar.
A desire for innovation and continuous improvement.
Keep abreast of current legislation and have a commitment to CPD.
An ability to prioritise workload and work to deadlines.
Possess the necessary knowledge and influence to provide advice, assistance and guidance to team members.
Excellent communication (verbal and written), numeracy and IT skills.
