Introduction
Participation is a bicameral team that supports both Houses, bringing the public closer to Members and the work they undertake at Parliament for the benefit of all UK citizens. We sit within the broader Chamber and Participation Team, which supports Members' legislative and scrutiny work in the House of Commons Chamber, Westminster Hall, general committees and some related select committees.
The Role
The Digital Marketing Manager sits in the Marketing team (within Strategy and Business Engagement). The Digital Marketing Manager plans and delivers advertising as part of exciting UK-wide campaigns to engage the public with UK Parliament. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the relationship with our digital advertising agency, including the review and scrutiny of media plans, buying briefs, audience targeting and channel splits. The Digital Marketing Manager will lead on the process to re-tender for an advertising agency as we reach the end of our current contract. The role will also involve working closely with colleagues in the Parliamentary Digital Service to build evaluation, attribution and tagging for digital activity through tools such as Google Analytics 4 and Google Tag Manager.
Some of the responsibilities for this role include:
- Lead the overall digital marketing strategy to develop a target-led, data-driven approach for the Participation Team, in line with the team's overall marketing strategy.
- Manage the relationship with our digital marketing agency, including review and scrutiny of media plans, buying briefs, audience targeting and channel splits.
- Planning and monitoring of digital campaign budgets between channels, providing accurate forecasting to maximise cost efficiency.
- To work closely with colleagues in the Parliamentary Digital Service to build evaluation, attribution and tagging for digital activity through tools like Google Analytics and Google Tag Manager.
Skills and Experience
To be successful in this role you will demonstrate:
- Experience using a target-led, data-driven, approach to the planning and delivery of digital marketing while upholding the principles of equality, diversity and inclusion.
- Experience building relationships with external digital partners, whether individuals or organisations, to increase the reach of marketing activity.
- Experience using a range of analytical tools (incl. Google Analytics 4, Data Studio, Hot-Jar, Social Analytics) to evaluate the performance of digital marketing activity.
