Crynodeb

The Public Sector Fraud Authority (PSFA) is responsible for working with departments and arms-length bodies to better understand and reduce the impact of fraud against the public sector. Working in the PSFA is an opportunity to make a difference to the taxpayer by improving how the public sector deals with fraud. This can reduce the cost of public services and drive fairness in society. Working in the PSFA offers access to a wide range of stakeholders across government and the opportunity to work with various sectors in a high profile policy area with high media, parliamentary and ministerial interest.

The activities led from the PSFA includes developing policy, delivering operational units and programmes of work, setting standards to prevent, deter, disrupt and discover fraud. It covers all fraud - including all Government payments, services and income.

The PSFA is part of the Cabinet Office and our staff are expected to spend 60% of their working time (3-days per week) in a government office. This is in accordance with Ministerial directives on Return to Office and, with the exception of reasonable adjustments, not open to negotiation.

This is an exciting opportunity to join a pivotal team at the heart of public sector innovation. The Single Network Analytics Platform (SNAP), an initiative by the Public Sector Fraud Authority (PSFA), is designed to enhance data-driven decision-making by Public Bodies. As a Senior Business Analyst, you will play a crucial role in onboarding public bodies to SNAP, drive our user expansion strategy, benefit realisation activity, and lead product evaluation with end users. This role is fundamental in ensuring SNAP's success and maximising its impact on public service delivery. As our remit expands, you’ll also support the PSFA AI Programme and our mission of deploying advanced analytics tools across government with an AI focus.

Responsibilities

  • Lead engagement activity with Public Bodies to onboard users to the Single Network Analytics Platform (SNAP);
  • Partner with Public Bodies to identify use cases for SNAP, support the delivery of user training and drive benefit realisation activities;
  • Be a first point of contact for user support on SNAP;
  • Undertake root cause analysis to enable effective process redesign and implementation of change;
  • Work with our delivery team to understand and document new user requirements, translating these into scoped pieces of work for development by the technical team;
  • Collaborate on prioritisation to agree on a viable product for development and sprint features;
  • Support the platform lead by managing issues as they arise, and supporting partners and demoing of new releases;
  • Understand any business and policy constraints that need to be considered, and assess their implications.
