Role Responsibilities

The strategic, hotel revenue manager function is to maximise the revenue of Hotel Indigo Exeter using data analytics and management techniques. The revenue manager will analyse and monitor market trends, competition, and customer demand to optimise pricing strategies and to ensure revenue targets are met. Completion, analysis, and distribution of daily and monthly reports

  • Consistent review of the hotel daily pricing in respect of direct competitors, pace of demand and other influencing factors.
  • Ensure the hotel maintains and grows RGI % change within a pre-determined range.
  • Develop, implement, and execute strategic action plans to drive hotel revenue performance in conjunction with the senior hotel management teams.
  • Work to drive incremental revenue across all streams.
  • Participative in commercial trading reviews, budget preparations and completion of the commercial plan.
  • People / Relationship management.
  • System management.
  • Identifies the underlying principles, reasons, or facts of information by breaking down information or data into separate parts.
  • Generates and provides accurate and timely results in the form of reports, presentations, etc.
  • Demonstrates knowledge of job-relevant issues, products, systems, and processes.
  • Analyses information, identifying current and potential problems and proposing solutions.
  • Observes, receives, and otherwise obtains information from all relevant sources.
  • Analyses system data to identify trends, future need periods and obstacles to achieving goals.
  • Generates updates on transient segment each period and continually analyses transient booking patterns.
  • Corporate pricing, displacements, and escalations. Validating conclusions.
  • Provides critical input to hotel managers and Focus Hotels for development of property and overall market sales strategy.
  • Submits reports in a timely manner, ensuring delivery deadlines.
  • Maintains accurate reservation system information.

Profit

  • Assists in the development of commercial goals and strategies, with alignment to the hotel business plans.
  • Executes the strategic commercial plans and reviews monthly KPI’s.
  • Ensures revenue goals are met for both self and the hotel commercial team.
  • Demonstrates leadership to revenue generating departments driving sales culture.
  • Develops strong partnerships with local organisations and relevant brand.
  • Develops strong community and public relations by ensuring property participation in local, regional, and national tradeshows, exhibitions, networking, and client events.
  • Drives each segment through account penetration and supports the regional and local sales teams searching for new business to ensure fair share is achieved and budgets are met and exceeded.
  • Drives and keeps up to date on brands and industry initiatives.
  • Works closely with and drives the brands global revenue team to drive fair share.
  • Has a full understanding of the brand compliances and values.

RGI

  • Research market intelligence, evaluates and makes decisions based upon market trends and changes to remain competitive.
  • Research competitors’ sales strategies to identify growth opportunity in TRevPAR to increase market share.
  • Suggests innovative distribution and marketing ideas and proactively develops them to grow share.
  • Reviews the STR Report, competitive shopping reports and other resources to maintain an awareness of each hotel market position.

People

Direct report to the Hotel General Manager, with a dotted line to the Senior Central Revenue Manager and company Commercial Director.

  • Working with Hotel teams to assist in pricing analyses for all products in specific markets.
  • Management and leadership of any direct report team members.

Key Requirements

  • Strong analytical skills and approach, ability to analyse data and identify trends.
  • Practical working experience within commercial revenue management.
  • Knowledge of revenue management systems.
  • Advanced ability in Excel, PowerPoint & Word.
  • Proficiencies in planning and organising, communication and influencing.
  • A self-motivated, driven, results-orientated and proactive attitude is required.
  • Candidates must demonstrate excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation skills.
  • Fluency in English, both verbally and in writing.
  • Multi hotel unit revenue management experience, delivering results across markets.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills and mentoring skills.
  • Ability to work across all brand partners effectively influencing General Managers, Operation Directors, and Senior Management.
  • Knowledge of all market segments and total sales revenues to support hotels.
  • Experience of working with a global hotel brand and deliver strategies.
  • Strong organisational skills, effective decision-making skills, problem solving skills.
