The Patch Associate GP Dean will assist and work with the Primary Care Dean and the Head of School for General Practice to ensure the delivery of safe and compassionate care to patients through the delivery of high-quality GP specialty training. The postholder will have local responsibility for the co-ordination, provision and management of postgraduate general practice training activities within West Surrey, and more widely across Kent, Surrey & Sussex.

In addition, the postholder will have responsibilities with respect to the wider primary care workforce, supporting the development of the Primary Care workforce in West Surrey through the promotion of multi-professional education, recruitment and retention initiatives and in supporting at system level the activities of the Training Hub and developing Primary Care School.

The successful applicant will be expected to have a medical background and experience of education in a community or primary care setting and remain registered with a license to practice.

To support the Primary Care Dean and Head of GP School, and Training Hub Associate Deans, Patch Associate GP Deans will work across the spectrum of health and where relevant, social care, within the context of a team, so that the provision of education reflects changing service models. This will deliver an integrated workforce comprising individuals from a spectrum of professional and other backgrounds.
